Welcome to Colipa’s website. This website aims to give comprehensive information about the work of Colipa, The European Cosmetics Association.
Colipa represents companies and Associations from all over Europe working in the cosmetics industry. We are the voice of the cosmetics industry in Europe. In order to satisfy the growing expectations of consumers all over the world, we have an on-going dialogue with European decision-makers and stakeholders, as well as global partners.
Our industry is an important contributor to the growth and competitiveness of the European economy. In 2007, our sector performed above the average EU growth rate (2.9% in 2007) with a figure of 4.1%. In order to continue to be competitive, and to respond to the growing needs of our consumers in terms of efficacy and safety of products, our industry must maintain its capacity to innovate. We can expect the new cosmetics legislation to continue to support the in-market control principles and manufacturer responsibility, which are vital to our industry’s continued innovation.
