The dates for the Colipa General Assembly 2011 scheduled to take place in Brussels, are now confirmed for 15-17 June 2011.

The Open Session/Forum will take place on 16 June 2011 and will include a variety of speakers. This Open Session is open to anyone who would like to register in advance.

Over 100 participants attended this year’s annual event for the cosmetics industry in Europe.
This year’s theme for speakers at the Open Session was: Enhancing Consumer Benefits. Elizabeth Azoulay talked about the concept of beauty throughout the ages. The annual update on Alternatives to Animal Testing was given by Dr Horst Wenck. Consumer trends were covered by Nica Lewis, and Will Gilroy analysed the world of responsible advertising.



The Statutory Session of the General Assembly included elections for the next 2 year mandate of Colipa’s President and Vice-Presidents. Colipa welcomed Fabio Franchina, CEO of the Italian multinational cosmetics company Framesi, as President.

Vice-Presidents were also approved. Gerd Ries (Johnson & Johnson) continued in office as Vice-President for a new term.  Marival Diez from STANPA, the Spanish cosmetics Association became Vice-President, and Loïc Armand (L’Oréal) was approved as Vice-President Treasurer.
