IARC Review of Hairdresser’s Occupation
The European Cosmetics Industry notes IARC review of hairdresser’s occupation.
Brussels 27 March 2008 - Colipa takes note that IARC (the International Agency for Research on Cancer) has recently reviewed hairdresser’s occupation. IARC has classified the hairdresser’s occupation in the category defined as "probably carcinogenic". This classification is not new, and has not changed since 1993. The review addresses the overall risk of hairdresser’s occupation, including lifestyle, over several decades and is not linked to any specific exposure from any cosmetic product.
