Sun Products

A sunny day will lift our spirits and give us an opportunity to enjoy being out of doors. However, over-exposure to sunlight can cause painful burning and lead to an increased risk of some forms of skin cancer.

Sunlight is made up of different rays of different wavelengths, a small proportion of which are ultraviolet (UV) rays: UVA, UVB and UVC rays. UVC rays are filtered out by the atmosphere and do not normally affect the skin. UVB rays penetrate into the outer layer of the skin, damaging cells and causing the skin to become inflamed or sunburnt. Most UV radiation is in the form of UVA rays which penetrate deeper into the skin causing damage to supporting tissues leading to ageing effects.
